Description
Acquired in East Berlin, Germany by a family member during the 1960s,and now offered for your own collection,
a vintage handcrafted Kleine Schneiderlein, or "Little Tailor" doll
from Arnstadt, Germany.
Arnstadt is a town in Ilm-Kreis, Thuringia, Germany, situated on the Gera River.
It is one of the oldest towns in Thuringia and is nicknamed Das Tor zum Thuringer Wald,
The Gate to the Thuringian Forest.
This delightful sewing character sits upon a pink pillow and is approximately 5 1/2" tall.
For a small doll it has an amazing amount of details and workmanship.
Each vintage VEB Kunstgewerbliche Puppengestaltung doll has been
individually hand made and even though the patterns used to make them look alike,
no two characters are the same, adding to their uniqueness.
All of the clothing and material is like new, very clean, very colorful,
and in excellent condition.
The original box is included, but has become worn and folded over the years.
This charming German doll would make a wonderful gift,
or a nice addition to any vintage doll collection.
