Chinese Golden Scorpion -
Mesobuthus martensii
Mesobuthus martensii
is a species of scorpion in the family Buthidae.
Diatribution: China, Mongolia, Korea and Japan.
Diet: Young can eat Pinhead crickets, small roaches, meal worms. Adults can eat large crickets, roaches, super worms.
ousing: Adults medium critter keeper, 2 gallon tank, or Rubbermaid type container. Young can live in small critter keepers or large deli cups.
Substrate Depth/Type: 2-3" of peat/sand mix with rocks or hides. Pack down substrate and use flat rocks for them to create hides under.
This species is fairly communal, if provided with enough hiding spaces. A good rule of 1 scorpion per gallon of tank space is ideal. They also breed quite readily and beginning to be a very common scorpion in the trade.
Its preferred habitat is warm, dry areas with little vegetation.
M. martensii
can grow to about 6 centimetres (2.4 in) long, with females usually slightly larger, and has a life-span of about 4 to 6 years.
M. martensii
, especially its tail, has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for many centuries to treat various neuronal problems.

Whip scorpions range from 25 to 85 mm in length, with most species not longer than 30 mm; the largest species, of the genus

, reaching 85 mm.
They use only six legs for walking, having modified their first two legs to serve as antennae-like sensory organs. They have one pair of eyes at the front of the cephalothorax and three on each side of the head, a pattern also found in scorpions Whip scorpions have no poison glands, but they do have glands near the rear of their abdomen that can spray a combination of acetic acid and octanoic acid when they are bothered. The acetic acid gives this spray a vinegar-like smell, giving rise to the common name

Whip scorpions are carnivorous, nocturnal hunters feeding mostly on insects and millipedes, but sometimes on worms and slugs.
Mastigoproctus
sometimes preys on small vertebrates. The prey is crushed between special teeth on the inside of the trochanters (the second segment of the leg) of the front legs. They are valuable in controlling the population of roaches and crickets.

This is a small flower type mantis species from rain forest. They can be found from south Asia to South East Asia as far as southern China. They are usually in brown or green in color and has pointy eyes. They are well camouflage in bushes full of flowers. They are aggressive species feed mainly on insects that were attracted to flower nectar or pollen. Male of this species will fly away with slightest disturbance. Female feed almost every day after turning into adult and does not fly due to its weight.
Both sexes have long wings and are capable fliers. Full-grown males are about 3 to 4 cm in length, females about 4 to 5 cm.
Creobroter are known for having varicolored (yellow, white, red, brown, etc.) markings which serve as camouflage by hiding the creatures' actual shape and making them look somewhat like flowers when hiding amidst green foliage. The adult males are long and slender and have wings that are longer than their abdomen. The adult females are bulkier and broader, with wings that extend just a little bit over the end of the abdomen.

Leathery forewings base portion exposed, blue-black. Enough blue-black. Central ventral abdomen with the body color, the rest black.
